South Africa removed from FATF greylist after fixing financial flaws over 32 months.
South Africa has been removed from the Financial Action Task Force’s greylist after successfully addressing anti-money laundering and terrorism financing deficiencies over 32 months, marking a major milestone in its governance reforms.
The delisting, confirmed at the FATF Plenary in Paris, follows a 22-point action plan, sustained international collaboration, and a final on-site review in July 2025.
Nigeria, Mozambique, and Burkina Faso were also delisted.
Officials stressed the achievement reflects progress post-state capture but emphasized ongoing efforts to maintain financial integrity.
