Lalu Prasad Yadav and wife seek 4-week delay in IRCTC scam case to prepare for cross-examining witnesses.
Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi have asked a Delhi court to delay daily hearings in the IRCTC scam case, seeking four weeks to prepare for cross-examining prosecution witnesses.
The request follows the framing of charges on October 13, 2025, in a case alleging corruption during Lalu’s 2004–2009 tenure as Railway Minister, including improper contract awards to Sujata Hotel in exchange for land.
The court acknowledged the defense’s need for time to review a 18,000-page chargesheet and 250-page charge-framing order, allowing limited witness examination while awaiting the CBI’s response.
The case involves multiple pending criminal cases against the family and remains ongoing.
