Indo-Canadian businessman Darshan Singh Sahsi was fatally shot outside his Abbotsford home in a targeted attack; no arrests or motive yet.
Darshan Singh Sahsi, a 68-year-old Indo-Canadian businessman and community leader, was shot dead outside his home in Abbotsford, British Columbia, on Monday morning. Police say the attack was targeted, with the shooter waiting in a vehicle before opening fire as Sahsi entered his car. No arrests have been made, and investigators have found no links to extortion or anti-Indian sentiment. Sahsi, who moved from Punjab to Canada in 1991, founded Canam International, a global clothing recycling firm, and was known for his philanthropy. Three nearby schools were briefly placed on lockdown as a precaution.
