India releases ₹20 crore to Nagaland for flood relief, deploys emergency teams nationwide; 21 Maoists surrender in Chhattisgarh.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has approved an advance release of ₹20 crore to Nagaland from the State Disaster Response Fund for 2025-26 to aid relief efforts after monsoon-related floods and landslides.
This follows broader central assistance, including ₹15,554 crore to 27 states via SDRF, ₹2,267.44 crore via NDRF, and additional funds from mitigation funds.
The government has deployed 199 NDRF teams, along with military and air force support, across 30 states and UTs for rescue operations.
In a separate development, 21 Maoist cadres, including 13 women and senior leaders, surrendered in Chhattisgarh, marking progress toward eliminating Naxalism by March 2026.
