A private Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) against former Australian politician Mark Latham, filed by his ex-partner Nathalie Matthews, has been withdrawn ahead of a court hearing. The withdrawal includes agreements that Latham will not tweet about Matthews or use parliamentary privilege to discuss their relationship. Matthews, a 38-year-old businesswoman, had alleged emotional, psychological, and financial abuse, including threats and alleged recordings made in a parliamentary office. Latham denied all claims, calling the legal action an abuse of process. NSW Police confirmed they did not pursue criminal charges or an AVO despite interviewing Matthews. Matthews was arrested in October on revenge porn charges unrelated to the parliamentary claims, with her case set for November court review. The court listing for Latham’s case remains active.
