Construction has begun on Poland House, a £50 million student accommodation project in Stratford, East London, delivering 284 beds with 35% reserved as affordable housing.
Developed by Firethorn and built by McAleer & Rushe, the project features four red-brick blocks up to twelve storeys high, with shared spaces, study areas, and a gym.
Designed to achieve a BREEAM “Excellent” rating, it’s set for completion before the 2028/29 academic year.
This marks McAleer & Rushe’s first contract with Firethorn, whose expanding portfolio includes student housing in London and Edinburgh, residential conversions, and a hotel in Dublin.
