Camela Kay testified in a lawsuit claiming the Angels ignored warnings about drug use linked to pitcher Tyler Skaggs’ 2019 death.
Camela Kay, ex-wife of Eric Kay—convicted in 2022 of supplying a counterfeit oxycodone pill laced with fentanyl that killed pitcher Tyler Skaggs—testified in a wrongful-death lawsuit against the Los Angeles Angels.
She described witnessing players and staff using alcohol and pills on team flights, reported concerns about her husband’s drug use and possible sales to Skaggs based on text messages and family accounts, and said team officials were informed.
The Angels deny knowledge of Skaggs’ drug use or Kay’s activities, claiming they occurred off-duty.
Skaggs, 27, died in 2019 from a mix of alcohol, fentanyl, and oxycodone.
The lawsuit seeks $118 million in damages, alleging the team failed to act on red flags.
The trial continues in Southern California.
