flag Delhi extends air quality challenge deadline to Nov. 15, with 48 entries, aiming for science-based, public-driven solutions.

Delhi has extended the deadline for its nationwide air quality innovation challenge to November 15, following strong interest and 48 submissions from across India, including Delhi-NCR and states like Telangana, Kerala, Gujarat, and Punjab. About 68% of proposals target urban air quality, 32% focus on vehicle emissions. Entries, hosted on Manthan.GOV.IN, are being evaluated through three stages: digital screening, expert review with a ₹5 lakh pilot grant, and final verification by national labs, with a ₹50 lakh award for adopted solutions. A technical committee ensures scientific rigor, and the government promises responses within six hours. Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said the initiative marks a shift toward actionable, science-based solutions driven by public participation.
