A 4,000-year-old Bronze Age cemetery at Money Hill, between Haslingfield and Barrington, has been designated a scheduled monument after archaeologists found 11 burial burrows in mounds up to 55 meters wide.
The site, offering rare insight into ancient funerary practices, was originally on the route of the East West Rail project.
To preserve it, plans were revised to use a mined tunnel instead of a cutting.
East West Rail and Historic England jointly secured the protection, marking successful collaboration between infrastructure development and heritage conservation.
