Three Turks indicted in Israel for plotting to smuggle Iranian weapons into Israel via Jordan, arrested in September near Kibbutz Sha’ar HaGolan.
Three Turkish nationals—Rahman Gokayer, Younes Ozel, and Oktay Asci—were indicted in Israel for allegedly plotting to smuggle weapons from Iran into Israel via Jordan, with Asci, previously deported, accused of coordinating remotely.
The group, which included a person deported in July 2025, planned to transport handguns using Palestinian workers, with Gokayer promised up to $1 million.
They were arrested in September near Kibbutz Sha’ar HaGolan after entering Israel without weapons, having abandoned the initial plan due to internal disputes.
Asci, who had previously hidden a firearm in Bat Yam, and Ozel, who kept funds from a failed weapons deal, face additional charges.
All three remain in custody as the case proceeds in Nazareth District Court.
