A small plane crashed into a creek near Rainbow’s End Airport in Mannington Township, Salem County, New Jersey, on Saturday morning, injuring one of the two people on board.
The aircraft, believed to be a Cessna, became partially submerged in Mannington Meadow before 11:30 a.m.
Emergency crews from Delaware and New Jersey, including a Delaware State Police helicopter, rescued both occupants using hoisting equipment, airlifting the injured individual to Christiana Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The second person was uninjured.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating, but no details about the cause or aircraft type have been released.
