Nineteen-year-old Limerick runner Ava Crean won the 2025 Irish women’s national marathon title in 2:34:12, finishing sixth overall and improving her personal best by nine minutes.
Competing in her third race and first marathon in April, Crean, who began serious training four months prior, edged out Ann-Marie McGlynn to claim victory.
Representing the Back 2 Boston Running Club, she credited her success to her coach, family, and friends.
The men’s race was won by Daniel Mesfin of the U.S. in 2:08:51, with David McGlynn taking the national title in a personal best.
