Nigerian doctors to strike nationwide Nov. 1 over unpaid salaries, poor working conditions.
Nigerian resident doctors are set to begin an indefinite nationwide strike on November 1, 2025, after a 30-day ultimatum to the federal government expired.
The strike, authorized by the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), stems from unresolved demands including unpaid salary arrears, failure to implement promised allowances, excessive work hours, unjust dismissals, and pay downgrades.
The action, which includes a "no work, no pay" policy, will disrupt healthcare services across federal hospitals.
NARD cited failed negotiations and government inaction as reasons for the industrial action, which is expected to severely impact patient care nationwide.
Los médicos nigerianos realizarán una huelga nacional el 1 de noviembre por los salarios impagados y las malas condiciones de trabajo.
