A Lithuanian man was sentenced in Ireland for running a large cannabis grow operation and will be deported after prison.
A Lithuanian man, Evaldas Juknevicus, 42, was sentenced in Ireland for his role in a large-scale cannabis grow operation in County Roscommon, where 36.33 kilograms of cannabis were seized.
Arrested in April 2024, he was found at a property converted into a hydroponic growhouse with 170 plants.
Juknevicus, who had no prior criminal record and claimed he was recruited due to financial hardship after an injury ended his motorcycling career, provided a false name and fled the scene before being apprehended.
He later admitted guilt, and the court sentenced him to prison with a deportation order upon release.
