Five candidates will run in Mizoram’s Dampa by-election on Nov. 11, with voting set for Nov. 14.
Five candidates will contest the Dampa by-election in Mizoram’s Mamit district on November 11, following the July 21 death of MNF MLA Lalrintluanga Sailo.
The ruling ZPM, MNF, Congress, BJP, and People’s Conference are each fielding a candidate.
The MNF has accused Chief Minister Lalduhoma and adviser Dr. Lorrain Lalpekliana Chinzah of violating the model code of conduct, citing campaign promises and a post-code medical camp.
The election, with 20,790 voters across 41 stations, is seen as a key political indicator ahead of 2028 assembly polls and upcoming local elections.
Counting is set for November 14.
