A three-year-old boy died in the foyer of Beenleigh Police Station on Queensland’s Gold Coast after a traffic crash on Burnside Road early Saturday, October 25, 2025.
Emergency services responded just before 5 a.m. to a collision involving a 22-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, who fled the scene with a one-year-old child.
A witness helped transport the woman and the boy to the station, where he became unresponsive and was pronounced dead despite CPR.
The man was later found at a Beenleigh residence with the infant, who was hospitalized.
Police are investigating the crash, with multiple crime scenes established and a possible domestic violence link under review.
The man is cooperating with authorities, and there is no ongoing public threat.
Beenleigh Police Station has reopened.
