Warren officer Jack Barnes charged with felony embezzlement from youth program.
Warren Police Officer Jack Barnes, 29, was charged with a five-year felony for allegedly embezzling between $200 and $1,000 from the Police Explorer Program, a youth outreach nonprofit.
The charge stems from a financial discrepancy discovered in July 2025 during an internal review following a charity event.
Barnes, who served as an associate advisor, was placed on administrative leave, and the case was referred to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, leading to his arraignment on October 24, 2025.
He was released on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond with restrictions, and a next court date is set for November 18.
The Warren Police Department said it acted swiftly, emphasizing that one officer’s actions do not reflect the department’s overall integrity.
