A Palestinian man in Khan Younis, Gaza, lives in a tent atop an unexploded Israeli armoured vehicle, known locally as an “explosive robot,” amid widespread destruction from bombardment. Over 227,000 housing units across Gaza have been damaged, with more than 42,000 buildings destroyed in Khan Younis alone. Residents returning after a ceasefire face deadly unexploded ordnance, with at least 560 devices identified and over 300 people killed or injured since October 2023. Despite increased aid deliveries, Israel continues to restrict supplies, falling far short of the daily target of 600 trucks.
