Odisha extends crop diversification program, boosts food and aviation schemes with major funding.
The Odisha Cabinet has extended its Crop Diversification Programme through 2027–28 with a Rs 1,523.98 crore allocation, aiming to shift farming from paddy to high-value crops, pulses, and aromatic rice across 15.4 lakh hectares.
It also approved Rs 512 crore for the Aahaar scheme to provide subsidised meals at ₹5 per plate, increasing the government’s subsidy to ₹22 per meal.
Additionally, ₹4,182 crore was approved for the BMAAN scheme to develop aviation infrastructure and position Odisha as a regional aviation hub.
