Nonprofit keeps Revolutionary War site open during federal shutdown via public donations.
Due to the federal government shutdown, the nonprofit Friends of Jockey Hollow is keeping Jockey Hollow, a Revolutionary War site in Morristown National Historical Park, open through November 30, 2025.
The park, which features over 27 miles of historic trails and was the Continental Army’s winter encampment in 1779–1780, had closed with other National Park Service sites.
FOJH is funding operations through public donations, urging support via fojh.org/america250 to maintain access and preserve the site during the funding gap.
