A new free repair hub in London opens to fight waste by teaching residents to fix electronics, clothes, and furniture.
A new “fixing factory” has opened in Haringey’s Florentia Village, offering free repair workshops for electronics, textiles, and furniture as part of a growing London-wide effort to reduce waste.
Supported by Haringey Council, the North London Waste Authority, and Veolia, the initiative builds on earlier pop-up repair cafes and aims to promote a circular economy by teaching community members to fix instead of discard.
The project supports London’s 2030 goal to recycle 50% of waste and addresses rising electronic waste and limited access to affordable repairs.
