A $50 million twin service centre opens on the Pacific Highway near Tea Gardens, replacing the 2018 Rock Roadhouse site, to meet growing freight demand.
A $50 million twin service centre project is set to begin on the Pacific Highway near Tea Gardens, rebuilding the site of the former Rock Roadhouse destroyed in 2018.
The new southbound facility will be constructed over 24 months, with a northbound counterpart planned for later, pending rezoning.
The development, supported by Transport for NSW and Roads and Maritime, aims to address rising freight demand as truck traffic is projected to double by 2030.
The centres will offer 24-hour fuel, food outlets including McDonald’s, KFC, and Hungry Jack’s, and ample parking for trucks and buses.
This marks the first major upgrade on the Pacific Highway between the Mid-North and Central Coasts since 2008 and complements similar projects like the Cooranbong service centres on the M1, where construction has already begun.
