LSI recalls 2.2M pounds of Korean barbecue pork jerky over metal contamination risk; no injuries reported.
LSI, Inc., a South Dakota company, is recalling over 2.2 million pounds of Korean barbecue pork jerky sold at Costco and Sam’s Club due to potential metal contamination from a conveyor belt. The product, labeled "Golden Island fire-grilled pork jerky Korean barbecue recipe," comes in 14.5-ounce and 16-ounce pouches with best-by dates from October 2025 to September 2026 and includes establishment number M279A in the USDA inspection mark. No injuries have been reported, but consumers are advised not to eat the jerky and to discard it or return it for a refund. The U.S. Department of Agriculture confirmed the voluntary recall, noting that foreign object contamination in food can occasionally occur.
