Five-year-old Jase Johnson, a Lincoln kindergartener with an intellectual disability, experienced a dream weekend thanks to a partnership between Dream on 3 and Vital Services.
The event, held in Lincoln, included a limo ride, visits to Nebraska athletic facilities, and meetings with athletes from the volleyball team and men’s gymnastics.
Jase, a student at Faith Lutheran School, shot hoops, connected with athletes, and received a heartfelt sendoff from classmates.
His mother, Jessica Johnson, said the experience helped her son feel loved, included, and part of a supportive community.
The weekend is part of a broader effort to create meaningful, inclusive experiences for children with disabilities.
