India told Pakistan to stop alleged abuses in disputed Jammu and Kashmir at a UN debate, calling it an integral part of India.
India urged Pakistan to halt alleged human rights abuses in areas it claims are illegally occupied, particularly Jammu and Kashmir, during a UN Security Council debate marking the 80th anniversary of the UN Charter.
India’s UN envoy, Parvathaneni Harish, stated Jammu and Kashmir is an "integral and inalienable part" of India, asserting residents enjoy rights under India’s democratic framework—contrasting it with what he called Pakistan’s repression, military occupation, and resource exploitation.
He called for urgent UN Security Council reforms to reflect modern geopolitics, greater Global South representation, and stronger coordination to address global challenges like climate change, terrorism, and pandemics, while reaffirming India’s commitment to multilateralism and the principle of "the world as one family."
The remarks were made on October 24, 2025.
