Former NY State Trooper and PBA president Thomas Mungeer arrested for using union funds for personal expenses from 2018 to 2022.
Thomas H. Mungeer, 56, a retired New York State Trooper and former PBA president, was arrested and charged with third-degree grand larceny for allegedly using union funds for personal expenses from 2018 to 2022.
Authorities say he misappropriated money during his tenure, leading to a years-long investigation that included searches of PBA and related charity offices.
Mungeer, who resigned last month and surrendered voluntarily, was arraigned and released, with a plea agreement expected to result in probation and restitution.
No other individuals are facing charges, and the PBA said it has since strengthened oversight and transparency.
