Elijah Reagan, 40, of Pullman, pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity in connection with a fire that severely damaged an 18-unit apartment building on October 5, 2025, sparking a high-speed chase and an armed standoff with police.
Authorities say he used fireworks from a mortar tube to ignite the blaze, forcing the evacuation of 30 residents, including an elderly person, and leading to the building’s condemnation.
Reagan allegedly fled at over 60 mph, consumed methamphetamine and alcohol, and fired a shotgun during the pursuit before being arrested near Uniontown.
No injuries were reported.
He is held on a $250,000 cash bond, faces life in prison if convicted of first-degree arson, and will undergo a mental health evaluation.
His next court date is pending.
