Eleven Central Asian teachers competed in a Chinese language teaching contest in Dushanbe, backed by China’s cultural outreach.
The second International Teaching Excellence Competition for Chinese Language Teachers in Central Asia began October 24 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, hosted by Tajik National University’s Confucius Institute.
Eleven teachers from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan competed in course design, teaching demonstrations, and live Q&A sessions.
Chinese Ambassador Guo Zhijun praised teachers as cultural ambassadors promoting mutual understanding, while university officials highlighted the event’s role in advancing teaching methods.
The competition, held annually since 2024, supports China’s regional cultural exchange efforts through 13 Confucius Institutes across Central Asia.
