Delhi court to rule Nov. 10 on whether to probe BJP leader's alleged role in 2020 riots.
The Delhi Rouse Avenue Court has reserved its order on petitions challenging a magisterial directive to investigate alleged conspiracy behind the 2020 Northeast Delhi riots, prompted by a complaint accusing BJP leader Kapil Mishra of inciting violence.
The police argued Mishra was thoroughly investigated with no evidence found and claimed social media and WhatsApp campaigns targeted him.
His lawyers said no new probe can proceed without a fresh FIR, while police questioned the magistrate’s jurisdiction.
The riots, sparked by protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act, left 53 dead and over 700 injured.
The verdict is expected on November 10.
