A fatal single-vehicle crash on westbound I-90 in Mower County, Minnesota, killed 27-year-old Jasmine Katherine Brown of Winona on Wednesday evening, October 23, 2025, after her SUV struck a bridge pillar and caught fire, closing a 12-mile stretch of the highway. A separate semi-truck crash south of Rochester on Thursday, October 24, injured 45-year-old driver Shane Carl Swanson of Leland, Iowa, who was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, I-90 in Austin is undergoing a 30-hour closure starting Friday, October 24, as part of a $50 million project to improve traffic flow and replace bridges, with additional detours planned through October 28.
