Singapore launched its largest warship yet, the AI-equipped Victory, to replace aging corvettes and boost drone-based naval operations.
Singapore has launched its first Multi-Role Combat Vessel, the 492-foot, 8,000-ton warship Victory, at ST Engineering’s shipyard, marking the largest surface combatant in its navy’s history.
Designed as a mothership for unmanned drones and vessels, the ship features AI, a high-voltage electrical system, and a composite superstructure for stealth and stability.
It will replace six aging corvettes, with deliveries starting in 2028, and can reconfigure for combat or disaster relief using modular mission bays.
Armed with a 76mm gun, remote weapon stations, and air defense missiles, it has a 7,000-nautical-mile range and a crew of fewer than 100.
The project, developed with Sweden’s Saab, reflects Singapore’s push toward advanced, flexible naval capabilities and international defense collaboration.
