Police are seeking a man described as a Caucasian male, aged 40 to 50, of medium build with dark hair and a beard, over the September 25 vandalism of Sydney’s Anzac War Memorial, where an oil-like substance was poured onto stones and a plaque.
The damage, reported September 26, remains permanent despite cleanup efforts.
CCTV footage released October 24 shows the suspect wearing black shorts and a black T-shirt near the site.
This follows a similar incident on September 4 when two men pleaded guilty to damaging the memorial with olive oil during a religious “blessing.” Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Sydney City Police or Crime Stoppers.
