Organized by Nova for Women and Children and backed by local agencies, the event highlighted a 13.1% rise in domestic violence over two years and emphasized shifting accountability from survivors to perpetrators.
Activities included a march led by St Paul’s High School’s Aboriginal Dance group and Djembe Alchemy, live music, a barbecue, and information booths from support services.
The gathering marked the start of the 16 Days of Activism, with Yarn Tree Wrapping events planned for November 25 in Warners Bay and November 28 in Toronto.
