Islamabad High Court orders Adiala Jail to allow regular visits to Imran Khan, upholding twice-weekly meetings with officials despite enforcement issues.
The Islamabad High Court ordered Adiala Jail to fully comply with its previous rulings allowing regular visits for Imran Khan, requiring all meetings to follow an approved schedule and security protocols.
A three-member bench, including Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar, reinforced a twice-weekly visitation schedule established in March and mandated strict adherence to legal and security procedures, including restrictions on media statements.
The order followed a petition by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi, who sought to meet Khan to discuss governance and cabinet formation, a request the court upheld despite objections from the registrar’s office.
The court also directed facilitation of meetings for Salman Akram Raja.
Notices were issued to multiple government officials, requiring responses by October 23.
Despite the court’s directive, Afridi was denied entry to the jail, sparking criticism over enforcement of judicial orders.
El Tribunal Superior de Islamabad ordena a la cárcel de Adiala que permita visitas regulares a Imran Khan, manteniendo las reuniones dos veces por semana con los funcionarios a pesar de los problemas de cumplimiento.
