A NSW man’s appeal over 2024 child abuse convictions was rejected by the state’s highest court.
A stepfather from Western NSW has been denied an appeal against his 2024 convictions for three child sexual abuse offences committed between 1997 and 2000 when his stepdaughter was in primary school.
The Supreme Court’s Court of Criminal Appeal upheld the original verdicts on September 12, 2025, rejecting claims of inconsistent jury findings and affirming the victim’s testimony as credible.
The man, who maintains innocence, was convicted of two counts of indecent assault and one count of sexual intercourse with a child, and sentenced to four years and three months in prison with a two-year, three-month non-parole period.
The court found no evidence of improper compromise despite mixed verdicts on other charges, including some dismissed due to insufficient evidence.
