A SurveyMonkey poll of 20,807 U.S. adults conducted September 8–15, 2025, found that about 6 in 10 men support a return to traditional gender roles, with men more likely than women to believe one parent—typically the mother—should stay home.
Support is highest among married, divorced, and fatherhood men, as well as Republican and evangelical Christian men.
While 63% of Americans agree families are better off with one parent at home, many acknowledge financial and logistical barriers.
