Mariners' Raleigh, Polanco, Rodríguez named Silver Slugger finalists; Rodríguez first to win in first two seasons.

Despite missing the World Series after losing the ALCS to the Blue Jays, the Seattle Mariners had three players named Silver Slugger finalists: catcher Cal Raleigh, who set a franchise home run record and led the AL in homers and RBIs; second baseman Jorge Polanco; and outfielder Julio Rodríguez, a two-time previous winner. Rodríguez became the first player to win the award in each of his first two seasons. The Mariners also earned a spot as a finalist for AL Team of the Year. Winners will be announced on November 7.
