Istanbul’s former mayor Ekrem Imamoğlu, currently jailed on corruption charges, faces new espionage allegations tied to foreign intelligence and terrorist groups, according to Turkish authorities.

Prosecutors claim Gün shared classified military and political intelligence, including voter data, with foreign agents, while Imamoğlu is accused of direct involvement.
Warrants have been issued for Imamoğlu, Özkan, and Yanardağ, with the probe continuing under joint oversight by Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization and Istanbul police.
