India appoints Manish Gupta as its new Ambassador to Ireland, effective October 24, 2025.
Manish Gupta, currently India’s High Commissioner to Ghana and a 1998-batch IFS officer, has been appointed as India’s next Ambassador to Ireland, the Ministry of External Affairs announced on October 24, 2025.
He is set to assume the role shortly.
India and Ireland share deep historical and cultural ties dating back to the 19th century, with formal diplomatic relations established in 1947.
The Indian diaspora in Ireland, numbering around 80,000, includes PIOs, NRIs, and students, with many working in healthcare, IT, engineering, and management.
Earlier in 2025, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar visited Ireland, meeting top officials and engaging with the Indian community.
