Ford will boost F-150 and Super Duty truck production by 50,000 units in 2026 to recover from a September fire at a Novelis aluminum plant that disrupted supply chains and cost the company up to $1 billion.
The company is adding a third shift at its Dearborn plant, hiring up to 900 workers, and reassigning F-150 Lightning staff to support higher output of gas and hybrid models.
Production of the F-150 Lightning remains paused indefinitely, with no restart timeline announced.
Ford also plans to expand Super Duty output in Kentucky and invest $60 million there.
