Dubai launched its first student council for private school students, representing diverse backgrounds and advising on education policy.
Dubai has launched its first-ever Dubai Student Council for the 2025–2026 academic year, comprising 16 students from Grades 9 to 12 across 16 private schools.
Selected from 90 schools and 10 curricula, members represent six education systems, nine nationalities, and include equal gender representation and a student of determination.
The council, approved by Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, will serve as a liaison between nearly 400,000 private school students and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, aiming to shape Dubai’s education system through student input.
Each member received a copy of *Lessons from Life* by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and was encouraged to promote innovation, perseverance, and national values.
