DeAngelo McRoy was convicted of killing Delondre Sawyer in a 2024 carjacking and robbery.
DeAngelo McRoy, 27, was convicted in Montgomery County Circuit Court on October 22, 2025, of first-degree murder, armed carjacking, armed robbery, and firearm use in connection with the February 8, 2024, killing of Delondre Sawyer, 35, found shot in the back of the head in a wooded Gaithersburg area.
Evidence showed Sawyer was in a 2013 gold Honda Accord during the incident, which was later seen on gas station surveillance and recovered in Germantown.
McRoy, one of three men involved, faces life in prison plus 70 years, with sentencing set for April 28, 2026.
Co-defendant Quinnton Brown, 38, is scheduled for trial on similar charges on June 22, 2026.
A third individual has pleaded guilty to being an accessory after the fact to first-degree murder.
