Congress leader Udit Raj says his family was forcibly evicted from a Delhi government bungalow on Oct. 24, 2025, despite a court hearing scheduled for Oct. 28.
Congress leader Udit Raj said his family was forcibly evicted from a Delhi government bungalow on October 24, 2025, despite a court hearing scheduled for October 28.
The residence, allotted to his wife Seema Raj, a retired IRS officer, was vacated after an eviction notice issued days before the hearing, during a court holiday.
Raj claimed the move was politically motivated, citing his Dalit identity and advocacy for the poor, and accused authorities of selective enforcement, noting upper-caste occupants remain in government housing.
He said his wife had paid fees through May and requested an extension due to her father’s illness, and criticized the lack of communication and the haste of the eviction, sharing video evidence of belongings being discarded.
The Directorate of Estates has not responded.
