Carrick-on-Shannon named Ireland’s tidiest town for 2025 in SuperValu competition.
Carrick-on-Shannon in County Leitrim has been named Ireland’s Tidiest Town and Tidiest Small Town for 2025, winning the top honor in the SuperValu TidyTowns Competition.
The award was announced at a ceremony in Croke Park, where Minister Dara Calleary highlighted the town’s decades-long commitment to cleanliness, sustainability, and volunteerism.
The competition saw a record 929 towns participate, with over 30,000 volunteers contributing projects valued at €35 million.
Other winners included Rosscarbery (Tidiest Village), Dalkey (Tidiest Large Town), Tralee (Tidiest Large Urban Centre), Carraig Airt (Gaeltacht Award), and Corofin (Young Persons in TidyTowns).
The Minister also honored long-time volunteers Hugh Kelly and Michael Tuohy for their service.
