Artist Noel L. Dunn donates 100 signed WWII warbird paintings to a Minnesota museum, honoring airmen including Tuskegee Airmen and Bush.
Minnesota artist Noel L. Dunn, 87, has donated a collection of 100 autographed paintings of WWII to Desert Storm warbirds to the Fagen Fighters World War II Museum in Granite Falls. Each painting, based on photographs and featuring signatures from pilots or crew, honors both famous and unsung airmen, including members of the Tuskegee Airmen, Doolittle Raid survivors, and former President George W. Bush. The project began after Dunn discovered his friend, Harrison “Bud” Tordoff, was a decorated P-51 Mustang ace. Despite offers to sell individual pieces, Dunn preserved the full collection, which was celebrated with a Pioneer PBS documentary premiere on October 16, 2025.
