Air Canada is cutting about 400 management jobs, or 1% of its workforce, as part of a restructuring effort to improve efficiency and address financial challenges following a disruptive August strike that caused over 3,200 flight cancellations.
The airline, which has withdrawn its previous earnings forecast, announced the job cuts on October 23, 2025, while also unveiling a major expansion of service from Toronto’s Billy Bishop Airport, including new U.S. and domestic routes starting in spring and January.
The changes come amid ongoing operational and financial pressures, with third-quarter results set for release on November 5.
