Charles "Raw Meat" Sibanda, a legendary Zimbabwean footballer and key defender for CAPS United and the national team in the 1970s and 1980s, has died at 70 in Harare.
He played a central role in CAPS United’s Castle Cup wins from 1980 to 1983 and earned 44 caps for the Warriors.
After retiring, he coached clubs and served in ZIFA’s electoral and restructuring committees ahead of the 2025 elections.
Tributes praised his skill, humility, and lasting impact on Zimbabwean football.
His funeral wake is set for Farm 43 in Mhondoro.
