A 16-year-old in Scotland saved a two-year-old from a busy roundabout, earning police praise for his quick, brave actions.
A 16-year-old boy from Dumfries, Scotland, Nicholas Podsedkowski, was praised by police for rescuing a two-year-old toddler who was wandering alone on a busy roundabout on September 24.
While returning from a break near his school, Nicholas saw the child in the path of oncoming traffic, ran across the road, jumped a fence, and pulled the boy to safety.
He then took the child to a nearby police station, where he was reunited with his parents.
Police Scotland awarded him a commendation for his bravery, and officials commended his quick thinking and selfless act.
Nicholas said he acted instinctively and urged others to help children in danger.
