A 26-year-old El Paso man was arrested after allegedly holding a bank employee hostage, using them as a shield, and was charged with aggravated kidnapping.
A 26-year-old El Paso man, Luis Fernando Colomo, was arrested on October 21 after allegedly taking a GECU bank employee hostage at a Dyer Street branch, using the worker as a human shield.
Police say Colomo entered the bank acting erratically, claimed armed men were chasing him, and forced the employee into an office before taking him outside.
The victim escaped as officers responded, and Colomo was apprehended nearby.
He faces aggravated kidnapping charges with a $75,000 bond.
This incident occurred just days after he was released from jail on a separate assault charge.
The case is under investigation.
