Uber launches $4,000 EV grants in key U.S. states to accelerate electric rides by 2030.
Uber is launching the "Go Electric" program, offering $4,000 grants to drivers in New York City, California, Colorado, and Massachusetts to switch to electric vehicles, as part of its goal to make all rides electric in North America by 2030 and globally by 2040.
The initiative, which replaces the "Uber Green" branding with "Uber Electric," helps offset higher EV costs after the federal tax credit expired.
Drivers can also get up to $1,000 more through a TrueCar partnership.
Uber is expanding its battery-aware matching system to more EV models and regions, and riders can receive up to $8 off using the code GOELECTRIC20.
The program supports over 200,000 EV drivers on the platform worldwide.
